Races2U is a big supporter of scouting, and we are pleased to be working with a troop for thier fundraiser car show. Troop 30 will be putting on their show in Westlake next month. Please download the flyer for details, and please share it with your friends.
Races2U still has space available for campers from 4 grade through middle school. Whether it’s for a day or the entire week, our slot car camp offers a fun and educational experience for kids ages 10 and up. Campers will learn about electricity, physics, mechanics, and more, as well as setting up the basic and most important principles for when they start learning how to drive real cars. Races2U fan and colleague Donald Ethredge has taken up the helm to bring mobile slot car racing to the Houston area. He is operating under the name Fas-Car, and his website is Fas-Car.com. Donald has an analog 4 lane track that is beautifully decorated set up in an 18′ trailer and is perfect for outdoor events. He will be appearing at the Woodlands Family Fun Fest tomorrow.
Now that we are in our new location, we can really do slot car drag racing the way it was meant to be!
With a total length of almost 60 feet, we can run a true scale quarter mile. This track has sophisticated hardware and software from Track-Mate Racing, who also make timing systems for real drag racing and other automotive and hobby related racing. The routed track incorporates sensors at different distances to give accurate measurements of speed and acceleration in real time. Cars can even be “dialed-in” to compensate for differences in performance. Race one of our cars, or bring your own and tune it up for maximum performance.
